Microsoft Active Directory (AD) is a directory service used by businesses to organize, administer, and provide access to network resources. It serves as a centralized database for user accounts, computers, groups, and other network objects, allowing administrators to manage and secure corporate resources efficiently. While Azure AD represents the newer, cloud-based version of this service, adapted for today's more distributed and cloud-driven work environments, there are still many companies that stick with the traditional Active Directory due to their existing infrastructure and investments.

This Onify Blueprint retrieves users from Microsoft Active Directory and indexes them to Onify. To integrate with AD, we use a PowerShell module developed by our partner Zitac, to be able to do both full indexing or delta indexing if needed. The PowerShell module allows us to index everything from AD, such as users, computers, groups, etc.
